What is 'My books'?

All eBooks and digital audio books that you buy from the Pottermore Shop (or those you receive as gifts) are saved in 'My books', your personal store of books purchased from the shop. You can access your books quickly, easily and securely from there, and should you unfortunately lose or damage your device, you can return to download another copy without needing to buy the book again.

What does 'Remaining personal downloads' mean?

Once you have bought an eBook or digital audio book from the Pottermore Shop, you are permitted to download it for your personal use (or use by your children) up to eight times, at no additional cost. 'Remaining personal downloads' simply means the number of personal use downloads you have left.

The limit of eight is intended to be plenty to ensure you don't need to buy the book more than once.

Can I share my eBooks and digital audio books with my family?

eBooks and digital audio books purchased from the Pottermore Shop can be downloaded for personal use up to eight times, at no additional cost. If you want to share your Harry Potter book with your own children, that's absolutely fine with us too, so long as they are under 18. Actually, we'd encourage it! However, once they are over 18, they will need to buy their own copy.

You might want to download a copy to your laptop, your tablet, and your child's eReader - whatever the combination - you have eight available downloads per book. There's no time limit to use up your downloads, so if you lose your device or close an account with one of our partners reading services, come back at any time to take another copy.

My book is not appearing in 'My books'. What should I do?

After you have purchased your book, it should be instantly available in 'My books', ready for you to download at your convenience.

If your book is not showing after a few minutes, please sign out and try signing in to your account again. Sometimes this is all you need to do for your book to appear.

If your book is still not showing after that, please Contact us, choose 'My books' within the 'Reason you are contacting us' list, then select 'I can't find the book I've purchased'. Please also include relevant details and we will try to help as quickly as possible.

What happens if my computer or device is damaged, lost or stolen, and I lose my books?

You can download each book you purchase up to eight times, so you should have plenty of copies left if you lose one. Please visit My books to download another copy.

Can I remove an item from 'My books'?

Once you have purchased a book, it will be saved in 'My books' for you to download up to eight times. Once you reach your personal download limit, an image of your book will remain on your bookshelf and you will have the option to buy it again.

If you have purchased a book by mistake, please Contact us to request a refund. As long as you haven't taken a download (or redeemed your gift code) we will be happy to process a refund and remove the item.
