The book language is the language the eBook is written in, or the language the digital audio book is recorded in.

The site language is the language the Pottermore Shop can be viewed in.

Note that the site language and the book language are selected independently, so that, for example, you can purchase or gift foreign language editions. However, if you change the site language on the homepage, the book language will also change.

What languages are the Harry Potter eBooks and digital audio books available in?

The complete set of Harry Potter eBooks are available in English (US and GB versions), French, Italian, German, Spanish (Castillian) and Japanese.

The complete set of Harry Potter digital audio books are available in English (US and GB versions) and German, and the first two books are available in Italian.

eBooks and digital audio books in other languages will be added as they become available.

How do I change the book language?

Click on the 'eBooks' or 'Digital audio books' title at the top of the page, depending on the type of books you want to view or buy. The 'Book language' selection is shown at the top right-hand side of each page. To change this, simply select another language.

How do I change the site language?

The Pottermore Shop is available in English (US), English (UK), French, Italian, German, Spanish and Japanese.

To change the site language, simply select your language preference from the 'Site language' list at the top of the page.

If you have a Pottermore Shop account, you can change the language you would prefer us to use when we contact you by clicking on the 'My shop account' link at the top right of the page, and going to 'Account preferences'.

If you change the site language on the homepage, the book language will also change.

Why can't I buy some language editions of the Harry Potter books?

Due to publishing restrictions, some language editions of the Harry Potter eBooks and digital audio books are not available to buy in certain countries. However, there are always editions available to purchase.

eBooks and digital audio books in other languages will be added as they become available.

What languages is customer services provided in?

Customer service support is available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish (Castillian).
