Digital audio books are books that you can listen to on a device such as a Sony Walkman, Apple iPod, MP3 player, mobile phone or computer. They sound the same as audio CDs, but because they are supplied as MP3 files, digital audio books are portable and available to listen to as soon as you have downloaded them.
How are digital audio books formatted?
Digital audio books are supplied as MP3 files – one per chapter – which are contained in a single zipped file to make them easier to download.
See Downloading digital audio books to find out how to access your MP3 files after you have purchased your book.
How big is a digital audio book MP3 file?
Digital audio book files vary in size depending on their content. Your Harry Potter digital audio book will be between 200MB and 1GB in size, but it is supplied as one file per chapter in a single zipped file to make it more manageable.
